 | | On the 2 April 1974, Dalat was announced as a district in Sibu and covers up to 2210.1 kilometers per square feet. Administration covers the area of Oya up to Ulu Pakoh (Oya, Dalat Proper. Ng. Tamin, Stapang, Skim Sekuau and Ng. Pakoh). Dalat District had 4 towns, 23 villages and 115 long houses. Since then until 28 February 2002, this district was placed under the Sibu Administration. History was made for Dalat District on 1 March 2002, when Mukah was announced as the 10th Part of Sarawak and was officiated by the Chief Minister of Sarawak, Pehin Sri Dr. Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud. Following the announcement, Dalat District was officially put under the administration of Mukah. Under the new administration, Dalat District covers a smaller area, which is 905.29 kilometers per square feet and spans from Penat to Oya, as well as from Muara Sg. Kut to Ulu Baoh.
