Felda Medoi was opened in the middle of 1963 as part of a development programme for the Bumiputra under the auspices of the government at that time. The name Medoi was derived from the name of a local, Tok Medoi who was said to be the first to open the settlement there. The surrounding community respected him for being wise. The name Medoi was to commemorate his deeds to the community.
