The name of FELDA Nitar 1 originated from a name of a native girl, Nitar. At that time, long before FELDA or Federal Land Development Authority  took over the place, it was home to a few native families. Nitar fell in love with a man from the same village. However, Nitar’s family opposed to their relationship and Nitar ran away into a swamp near their village. Since then, Nitar was never found. Based on the incident, the FELDA settlers had named the place as FELDA Nitar 1 till now.
