Women today are not only familiar with kitchen chores but they are also brave in participating in the business world which is full of challenges and risks. The women in FELDA Tenggaroh are also getting more exposure in the business sector. One of the women who are active in business is Buwina Yatim.
It has been three years since Buwima Yatim involves in the
baulu business. A wide variety of
baulu is sold. Among them are
baulu cermai,
baulu lapis,
baulu gulung and others.
Baulu is also sold in a few flavours which can be chosen by customers. The available flavours are pandan, fruits, orange and other flavours as well. She obtained an early exposure from Agriculture Department by attending the course that was held in Mersing.
She makes
baulu according to requests and since she started making
baulu, she has been constantly getting orders from customers regardless from Tenggaroh or outside Tenggaroh. In a month time, she made up to 4,000 pieces of
baulu. The price of one packet
baulu sold by her is RM6.00 and contains 50 pieces of
baulu. To obtain raw materials, she needs only to contact the nearest sundry stall and they will make the delivery directly to her house. Even though orders kept increasing, she still manages the business on her own. This may be due to the fact that she prioritises quality in every
baulu made.
