urawan Surip, one of the native here has become the Parit Haji Ali’s pride. Originally he was selling kebab in the night market, but he can now be proud of his processing factory which is situated in the IKS Parit Raja Complex. He first got involved in the business of processing kebab meat since 1997 but had expanded into making pita bread and frozen sate.
He received guidance from the Agriculture Department besides getting equipments such as metal detector, micro wave, packaging machine and a few other types of machine. All the machines cost RM90, 000. With the facilities he received, he managed to develop his business until he reached the current level.
In the marketing field, he divided it into four marketing segments which are kiosk, contract, catering and hypermarket. For the kiosk segment, he supplies frozen kebab meat to the night market traders. In this way, it can help to introduce his products to the society out there.
Apart from that, he received contract of supplying frozen sate meat and frozen meat to the Malaysia Airline System, Resort World Hotel and other companies. He markets his products to supermarkets such as Carrefour, UDA Ocean and others directly.
His latest involvement is in the catering business. For now, he focuses on market around the Johor state such as Eid celebration and ceremonies held by the Batu Pahat District Office. He has now 40 man power after 10 years of involvement in this business.
