Contrary to popular belief, Kampung Seri Menanti is not situated in Negeri Sembilan Darul Khusus even though it bears a similar name to a village in Negeri Sembilan. This village is actually situated in the state of Johore. Kampung Seri Menanti can easily be reached as it is next to the primary road which connects the towns of Muar and Batu Pahat heading towards Johor Baharu. Muar, dubbed as Bandar Maharani, was once connected by ferries or charted skiffs plying between the town and Sungai Muar.
