Kampung Serom 5 Hulu has a population of approximately 900, the majority of whom are Malay Muslims. Most of their houses, which are built in rows, exhibit the architectural design of the traditional Johor Malay houses that is having high pillars and many windows. Notwithstanding this, quite a number of houses have modern architectural designs, too.
