There are about 100 full time fishermen in Kampung Tanjung Serindit. As they are not beset with the monsoon season, they can fish all year round. According to two fishermen from Kampung Tanjung Serindit, Sharom Shamsuri and Mohd Hanafi Hamid, they use different fishing methods to make their haul. When the tides are low or ‘Air Kecil’, they will just use fishing net to catch fish and mangrove crabs or better know as “Ketam Bangkang” by the locals. During high tide or ‘Air Besar’, they would use vertical fish hook and longline to catch garoupa and sea bass.
