Kampung Kayu Ara Pasong is situated in Mukim Api-Api. This village is situated approximately 15km from Pontian Town. According to the village elders, Kampung Kayu Ara Pasong was opened in 1911 by traders from Jawa, Indonesia. This village has won numerous awards, proof that its Village Development and Safety Committee (JKKK) and the villagers themselves work together in ensuring a safe village and surroundings. Among the awards it has won include the Best Surau of Pontian District 2001, Best Mosque of Pontian District 2000, Best Surau of Pontian District 2004.
