Kampung Pinang is located at the site where Tuang River originates around the mid 1930s. According to the folklore, the area was first explored by seven families. The name Kampung Pinang originated from the historical background of this place which was abundance in betel palm trees. The earliest settlers were believed to have used the betel palm tree trunks as the building materials in constructing their houses.
