Prior to the wedding day, the bridegroom is required to send dowry to the bride’s family in forms of ‘tajau’ (big earthen vase), ‘gong’ (metal disk), coffin and beauty accessories such as necklace, earrings and gold bangles. Interestingly, these dowry items are not only presented to the bride, instead they are also given as ‘tokens’ to the family members of the bride! These inherited customs and traditions are still being religiously followed and adulated by the community in this village.
