Kuala Kubu Bharu like other places in this country has its unique history together with its own folklore. Supposedly, an English officer, Cecil Ranking’s conduct of shooting a white crocodile had damaged a dam and this act had destroyed a major part of Kuala Kubu Bharu. This crocodile was believed to be the spirit of the dam and said to be sacred. It was believed Cecil Ranking had gone to the dam in a boat and threw three sticks of dynamite to blast the crocodile. That was the story which became part of the history of Kampung Kubu Bharu. Ever since, Kampung Kubu Bharu has gone through rapid development and there are a number of government agencies as well as private institutions here.
